This new Lenovo ad for the Olympics was shot at Atlas Cafe in Williamsburg. In this picture you can see Lodge (puke) across the street and of course the corner of Grand Street and Havemeyer. I object! Having the dog around the office is a huge stress reliever for everyone at my company. In fact, I didn’t bring her in today because she’s playing nurse to my sick girlfriend at home and everyone here is all emo. Instead of playing ping pong on breaks (or whatever web 2.0 companies do these days), we play with the dog. Though, if the dog is an annoying piece of shit, I can see where you’re coming from.

Blue Hill at Stone Barns
Michelle and I took a trip upstate yesterday to eat at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. The farm was started by chef Dan Barber on the Rockefeller family estate as a proof of concept to show that a restaurant can exist by serving only food they grow themselves. Nearly everything they served to us was grown or raised right outside it’s doors on their expansive farm, and everything on the menu was in peak season. It’s sort of like a more relaxed, east coast French Laundry. We LOVED it.

I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY 100% WITHOUT A DOUBT recommend eating here as soon as possible. It’s only a 30 minute train ride along the beautiful Hudson river, and you’re transported into a totally different landscape. It’s hard to believe Manhattan is so close.

Red Cooked Pork Belly
Michelle and I cooked pork belly today! I’ve never cooked it before so it was exciting to make and surprisingly not mess up. We never cook Chinese food, so this was fun…especially wrangling the ingredients in Chinatown.

Tomorrow we travel upstate to eat at Stone Barns. Yummmm.
