In case you are like me and have been trying to figure out how to get around Dreamhost’s hijacking of it’s user’s custom DNS records…check out this fix I found:
First, delete the Dreamhost web hosting setup for the domain(you can keep the mail hosting if you want it). Then, go back to the manage domains page and click “DNS” for that domain. You’ll notice there’s no A record for www there anymore. Now add in the tumblr IP.
